When Ozarks Electric first began exploring bringing fiber internet to our members, we knew it wouldn’t be easy, but we also knew it was the right thing to do. In 2016, we launched OzarksGo with a simple mission: to connect our communities with the same commitment to service and reliability that has defined Ozarks Electric for more than 80 years.

At the time, high-speed and affordable broadband access across Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma was limited. Many of our members, especially those in rural areas, had few reliable options. As an electric cooperative, we saw an opportunity to close that gap and ensure that everyone, no matter where they live, could have access to fast, dependable internet. What started as an idea to serve our members better has become a lasting commitment to keeping our communities connected.

I’ve been with Ozarks for more than 20 years, and during that time I’ve had the privilege of serving in many different roles. I started my career in right-of-way. A right-of-way worker helps clear and maintain the land around power lines to ensure crews can safely build, reach and repair the electric system. I then moved into system operations and quality assurance, where I helped monitor the flow of electricity across the grid and ensured our equipment and processes met strict safety and reliability standards. Each position gave me a deeper understanding and appreciation for the cooperative spirit and the people who make it work. I’ve seen firsthand how innovation and community go hand in hand. That perspective has guided my leadership since moving into the director role at OzarksGo in 2021 and then taking on the general manager role last year.

When OzarksGo connected its first customer in 2017, it marked the beginning of a new era for our cooperative. Today, we serve more than 45,000 customers, delivering reliable, high-speed internet, phone and television that keep families connected, support local businesses and strengthen our rural communities. Every new connection means one more home, classroom or business gaining access to the network we’ve built together.

As we continue to grow, I’m proud that OzarksGo is a part of the Ozarks Connections magazine. We hope to bring you closer to the stories, people and progress shaping OzarksGo.
