Getting to know the places across our service area
It’s a little embarrassing to admit, but after nearly 30 years in Northwest Arkansas, there’s still a lot of this region I don’t know.
I grew up about 100 miles north of Fayetteville in southwest Missouri. Because I went to college in the middle of the state, I ended up driving all over and knew my Missouri geography pretty well.
Once I moved to Fayetteville, I stayed pretty close to home, only really going to Benton County when I worked there. I don't know much about the towns in the Ozarks service area.
But that’s starting to change.
My map and a partial list of communities in the Ozarks service area.
I’ll be at the Stilwell Strawberry Festival this month, and last year I went to my first Clothesline Fair in Prairie Grove (more about square dancing in our next issue!). I’ve been learning about Lincoln, Cane Hill and Westville. One of the first things I did in this role was write out the communities on an Ozarks Electric service map to get a better sense of the full area, from Chewey to Boston.
These are places we serve and the stories we want to tell.
That’s where you come in.
Below, you'll find a QR code to a short survey. Please take a few minutes to help us make Ozarks Connections a magazine that reflects what matters to our members.
