Ready, Set, Run!

If fitness is your goal for the new year, there are several upcoming opportunities for runners. 

The Time Travel 5K, 10K and half marathon is set for Jan. 11 in Fayetteville. There is also a 1-mile kids’ dash. Register at runsignup.com

The city of Fayetteville’s annual Frozen Toes 5K & 15K Trail Run will be held Jan. 24 at Kessler Mountain Regional Park. Registration is open until Jan. 22. Register at race-wizard.com

Springdale Parks and Recreation will host its Second Annual Groundhog 5K Jan. 31 at J.B. Hunt Park. Register at race-wizard.com

Experience the beauty of Cookson Hills Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in the Peak to Creek 50K race in Cookson, Okla., on Feb. 7. There is a limit of 70 participants. Register at runsignup.com

Running From Yeti is a 5K, 10K and half marathon scheduled for Feb. 7 at Kessler Mountain in Fayetteville. Wear white to match Freddie the Yeti! Register at runningfromyeti.com.


Old Time Jam and Square Dance First

Tuesday each month | 6 to 9 p.m. Folk School of Fayetteville
Ozark Folkways hosts an old-time jam, led by Pete Howard, at 6 p.m. with square dancing at 7 p.m. Dancing is beginner friendly, and partners are not required. ozarkfolkways.org.
