Free Family Event Focuses on Children's Mental Health
Families in Washington County can connect with local resources and learn more about children’s mental health during a “Marvelous Me” event hosted by the Economic Opportunity Agency Head Start program in May.
The event is designed to help families better understand children’s emotional development while offering practical support and connections to services in the community.
Head Start serves children from 6 weeks to 5 years old across seven locations in Lincoln, Fayetteville and Springdale, providing early education along with health and family support.
“Many people think Head Start is just childcare, but it’s much more than that,” said David Flores, family and community manager. “We work closely with families to support children’s overall health and development.”
Eligibility is based on household income. Families in the program also receive essentials such as diapers, wipes, formula and meals at no cost.
When: Saturday, May 9, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Randall Tyson Sports Complex, Springdale
